Well the people of Mexico are getting set for another Christmas. They actually start before Thanksgiving, because Thanksgiving is actually an everyday occurrence here with no special day of recognition. When you ask a Mexican How they are they reply, “Muy bien gracias a Dios.” Which translate to, “very well thanks be to God.” During the Christmas season which starts the first week in November and continues on until the first week of January, concluding with the Day of Three Kings, there are many piñata parties so there is a high demand for piñatas.
Anyway, last year in our old neighborhood we only saw one Piñata get smacked, but we saw ten others go down at the ward Christmas party. This year in our new neighborhood, which is basically working class, self employed folk, many families make piñatas starting with the shell upon which they add brightly colored foil, and crepe paper in many different shapes, from Christmas trees to SpongeBob. We have seen Pooh Bear, Cinderella, Batman, Spiderman, The Hulk, Snow White, and just about any other fantasyland or action hero you can think of. They cost anywhere from $300 Mx pesos to $500 Mx pesos ($21AD – $35AD). The more expensive ones, besides being larger, are constructed on a clay pot. The less expensive ones have a paper machè body which is constructed over a balloon form, which is then deflated and used again. The smallest ones we have seen are about the size of a large hamburger, and the largest we have seen is about five or six feet in diameter. The elders tell us that they are building one about 15 feet in diameter in the next little colony.
We took these pictures on the way home from the church last week. We also decided to get into the spirit of Navidad ourselves this year so we stopped at the papelaria and purchased some things to decorate the house, and we also bought a nice poinsettia. The house looks very festive. Our little tree complete with lights is from Jessica and Levi last year.
The work of the mission is going very well. We have some very spiritual experiences to share with you all when we return. Almost every week we have a very special spiritual moment which is what fuels our engines and keeps us going. These experiences can be as simple as seeing someone we spoke with during the week, who hasn’t been to church in five or six years, come walking through the chapel doors, or witnessing the Holy Ghost influence someone who is struggling with the decision of when they will be ready for baptism, and the complete transformation of their countenance when they receive the witness and make the decision to fix a date.

Hey Mom and Dad. This is Cordell. I will write you a bit tomorrow. For now here is the most recent email we received from Andrew.
this is what i worte to sean:
"hey so guess what i started the deep fry diet. HA ha basically that means we deep fry everything we can and eat it. have you ever had a deep fried hot pocket they are amazing.
its pretty cool that you are able to live on your own. how much did you get for the whole delay in you pay check thing. are you worried that that might happen again. if it does how will you make rent. the only thing i worry about with the whole shareing a house thing is what happens if someone cant make rent. that would really suck.
i think it would be really awesome to buy a house when i get home then rent out the rooms. me and a few of my mission friends have talked pretty seriousely about that but that seem for ever away right now.
the mission is going amazing. i love it out here so much. i wouldnt trade what im doing now for anything in the world. well i running out of time on the computer be sure and right me back about what is new with you love you man bye bye. "
so things here in jame town are going good. ive been doing pretty good. ive been doing alot of exchanges and have been very busy working in other people areas. its a little frustrating because it seems like all the work im doing is for nothng because i dont see the out come of it all but i know thats kind of a selfish thing to say but i feel that way none the less. but i have alot of fun on exchanges too. it kind of feels like one gigantic sleep over.
we dont really keep tract of houses in our area that we tract into. i think one reason dad is because of how big our areas are. there were something like 40'000 plus houses in Uniontown in just the city and we had three cites in our area that big. the way i do it is that i just highlight a map of where ive tracted and the dont tact that street again while im in the area well the com got to go bye

Im sorry but it seems I am bound to be pressed for time for a bit but I will write at least a little to dampen the guild I feel, to be honest.
I was thinking about you and mexico as I looked at the pictures of the temple and I cant help but think of how important the temple is to me and to our whole family and I think of how important the Oakland temple is to me as a part of my life. It makes me realize that this temple and the people in Mexico are as real and loving and important to you as the temple and people of the bay area are to me. It is a little sobering to think. Just a few months to go. It makes me think of what a fickle thing time is. That time will be gone so soon its almost scary to think of it. I wonder what I would have done differently if I was somehow transported back to my mission with 4 months to go and dont think I would do much differently. I hope you have the same experience. If theres not some cute burnett that shows up here really soon there is not doubt someone waiting. Love Cordell
To JeffP...Jeff, it was a pleasant surprise to hear from you. We hope everything is alright? Would you please send us an e-mail at:

Our Most recent Letter from Andrew.
So besides being sick things are going pretty good. We just had zone conference it was fun. In some ways I like them now and in some ways I don’t. Before I loved zone conference because I learned so much and I loved being around president. But now I have to teach for like a half hour. Our instruction went pretty well I think. It’s really intimidating because half the mission is older than I am mission wise. I’ve noticed though if I think about that I sound funny when I talk so I just say what I plan boldly and thing turn out pretty good.
I asked president if we could have a truck and he laughed and said sure this is how you do it you wait till I get home get a real good job then get a good deal and buy a truck. Ha-ha president is awesome I love him. For Christmas they made us a slide show movie thing. Imp in it like four time but imp going to send it to you guys next allotment.
Im glad you got my stuff from Danni. I had more cards to send out but when I got transferred that messed everything up oh well. Don’t worry mom about having an empty house to long. I kind of plan to stay at home and go to school when I get home if that ok. Till I get married. Which might not take too long I really miss girls allot? I would pay money to hold a girls hand. The worst part is that I could do that for free if I wanted. Ha-ha man missions are weird. We get hit on allot but we just have to ignore it. Or my favorite thing to do is pretend for like two seconds like we are interested then try and teach them about the restoration some people must think we are way crazy.
Well imp almost out of time. Do you have seams new address so I could write him a letter? well I love you guys a ton bye bye.
